Cheesecake defends his home! (Robot Rumpus, May 2024)

Описание к видео Cheesecake defends his home! (Robot Rumpus, May 2024)

It's time to be a hometown hero! The Revolution Makerspace hosted a combat robotics tournament in Waltham MA, so it would have been criminal for Cheesecake to miss it! Sorry this video took so long, I've taken on a couple other projects recently.

The tournament is a double elimination bracket. Each fight lasts 3 minutes. You win by disabling your opponent so they can no longer move. If a robot cannot move, it will get counted out on a ten-second countdown. Even if it can only drive in circles, that is usually enough movement to avoid being counted out. If both robots are still moving at the end of the fight, then the winner is declared by a panel of judges, who score each robot based on damage (done to the opponent) aggression (how much each robot initiates the engagements) and control (how much control you have over the fight). Drivers are allowed to tap out at any time during the fight. Drivers may also request one "unstick" per fight if their robot is stuck on the arena.
