Purple Flame / Finger Painting For Mindfulness #82

"Purple Flame" is a pink and purple, acrylic, abstract painting inspired by the powerful and destructive force of fire moving through the landscape. Light can distort the colour of everything in nature, which I like to take to the extreme in many of my abstract art works by using unexpected hues. In these deep purple and pink shades, fire takes on a malevolent but magical quality.

I painted this on a 5x7 inch double gesso primed canvas board using the following Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic paints (in order of application in the video): Violet, Permanent Rose and Titanium White.
