The pancreas is a retroperitoneal organ situated primarily on the left side of the abdomen, towards the back. Therefore, the characteristic pain typically starts on the left side and often radiates straight to the back. She warns that if the pain subsides on its own, it does not signify disease recovery; the resolution of pain alone is never sufficient to declare Pancreatitis cured, as underlying damage may continue silently.

Furthermore, common symptoms like Vomiting, Fever, and Tachycardia (rapid heart rate) which are often mistaken for simple stomach infections can and frequently do occur, especially in severe cases like Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis. She advises that these signs should never be taken lightly and require immediate medical investigation and proper treatment.
