Jacques Delécluse was a french pianist first, later he started studying percussion, and became one of the biggest names of the percussion history, with his talent in writing for a single snare drum.

In 1964, Jacques released his famous 12 Etudes for Snare Drum, published by Alphonse Leduc. Like many of his works, these etudes are inspired by the orchestral repertoire.

These etudes are difficult only as far as the metronomic markings, the dynamics, accents, and ‘connecting tissue’ are strictly observed.

Jacques brought a new dimension to percussion playing: to consider dynamics, accents, phrases, and musical expression. In short, he makes us think about “how to make music with a drum.” - Frederic Macarez

The piece was performed by David Onozó at University of Debrecen.

Huge thanks for Dániel Kalló for editing quality.
