Here it is at last...The near impossible... If you have any questions about how the challenge works or the validity of this video PLEASE read the following links first:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/197344-fi... - Explanation of the challenge, written in 2002.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/197344... - (I post under the alias "berkice", and depending on whether you have it sets to 50 posts per page or 10 it might appear on page 38) One of the earliest posts I ever made on gamefaqs (Feb 2008), which was the forum I used to discuss information/ideas about this challenge. The people posting in these NSG challenge topics are among the best FFX players in the world (in terms of the challenges they have completed and their knowledge).

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/197344... - This is where I posted my victory, and the video was watched by others who had attempted the challenge/other incredibly knowledgeable veterans of the game and they all confirmed that no hacking/cheating was involved.

As for any questions about "you hacked your stats", I will tell you this: As I mention in the 3rd link, it is part hacked, part legitimately done. Basically I ran out of time and once I started uni in late 2009 I no longer had any free time to spend on this game so I stopped training for this battle and focused only on attempts. Having trained on and off for 2 years (about 1 year of that was for this battle exclusively, the 1st year was the other Dark Aeons), I still had a long way to go so I figured the only way I would have a decent chance of winning was if I used what time I had left to play FFX to actually attempt the battle since even with a fully prepared setup the odds are extremely low (as of the 9th September 2016 this still remains the only evidence of this battle completed with NSG restrictions, more than 10 years after the game's release and the first people started attempting the challenge).

So in summary, the battle is completely legit, no hacks were used, but I used FFXED (a save editor) to get my stats ready for this battle and save me about 2-3 years of training time (I foolishly thought I could get the preparation done manually, but it was only after you really get into it that you realise how stupid it is to waste time training manually for a fight you'll probably never win)... Using FFXED and an emulator does not affect the battle in any way, it would play out identically as it would on a PS2 with a 100% manual save. Emulation allows for quicker repeat attempts and for me to play the game while I'm at uni since I don't have my PS2 there. Emulation is not perfect and my laptop wasn't the best, so that is why the HP numbers look a little weird (again, it doesn't affect the challenge since every one of Dark Anima's regular attacks would hit for 99999, their HP is what it would have been at base, only +-HP% armours can be used to increase HP anyway. Also it is very easy to notice that the characters are at base HP from the phoenix downs/regen healing and mega graviton damage).

If after all this you still feel like the video is fake/hacked, then there's not much more I can do for you, there's only so much evidence you can provide on the internet, the rest is up to the viewers...

Just a final note, of course there are people who might say "what a waste of time"... That has to be the stupidest comment possible on a video like this, everyone has their own idea of what is worth their time and what isn't, and their own sense of what constitutes an "achievement"... You thought 1000+ hours to be the first to complete this challenge was long? Check this out:    • Final Fantasy X Blitzball 8500h+ of h...

It's all a matter of personal preference...
