Описание к видео Neverwinter: NEVERworking as Intended (3 of 4) - Bugged 'Advanced Boons' Points Distribution

For the uninitiated. Character progression, as well as, acquiring boon points in Neverwinter can be quite an expensive proposition, in regards to either time, and/or money... real-world or in-game. Players are encouraged to progress through each of the various story-campaigns and "participate" in one of the many, many, many heroic-encounters dotted across the various maps Neverwinter has to offer. By "participate", I really mean "grind", but that is a tale reserved for another time.

As your character progresses through the game, these boon points become valuable assets towards maximizing your character's overall performance potential in the more demanding, mastered, content that is available and on tap - and should not be squandered, or taken for granted by either the player, or the developers... hoping against hope that we'll finally have true stewards of Neverwinter to shepherd us through our twilight.

Regardless of how infrequently, and seldom the developers claim this bug has been reported, the fact of the matter is that it has been a known issue by the previous stewards for quite some time, a potential game-breaking bug that persists to this very day, and when affected... it can rob, cheat and steal from the player base, regardless of whether or not the theft gets reported. This server-side bug is much more than a visual glitch or random anomaly, this bug can quite literally, drastically overcharge your character, and rob your toon by needlessly consuming large amounts of your hard-earned boon points, quite often... with the player completely oblivious to the missing boon points that have just turned to dust right before their very eyes... as they press the "Commit" prompt - POOF!

Ironically, one can almost bet, dollars-to-donuts that if the shoe was on the other foot, the developers would have prioritized a hot-fix, in a New York Minute (banning everyone under the sun) if a bug they introduced was discovered, that would grant the unwitting populace the ability to acquire an overabundance of unearned boon points, and subsequently proclaim their messaging to some obscure messaging system that flies under the radar and goes largely unheard, and unnoticed by a huge swath of the remaining population - stranger things have happened, friends.

Again, further research on the matter has shown that this has been a known, documented issue for quite some time, and that the previous stewards of Neverwinter... did not... would not... or have been unable or unwilling to commit additional recourses to... or make any significant progress towards fixing the underlying coding-issues within the boons system as the stewardship of Neverwinter changed hands, time-and-time-again.

The broken and erratic points distribution within the 'Advanced Boons' Tier that has been affecting my warlock, is also affecting my pally tank - so the bug is not strictly isolated to warlocks. Older loadouts in which the boon allocation and distribution functions as intended, and has successfully been applied, remain usable and intact. At some point, the "Advanced Boons" Tier becomes bugged/corrupted (under the hood, on the server side, perhaps) and issues can arise when a player opts to... or is forced to (it has happened in the past) retrain a current loadout, or buy and create a new one due to a myriad of reasons - in fact, many players may not be aware that this bug exists, and are affected. Case and point, while I have been aware of this issue on my warlock (that has rendered him unplayable at mastered, endgame content by drastically hindering his overall performance) I have recently chosen to come back to the game (for one reason or another) and I have, now, also discovered this issue affecting my tank, as well.

The required, 45 boon points, needed to unlock the 'Advanced Tier' have already been properly allocated into Tiers 1 through 4 and are properly deducted - the math checks out. Due to the inherited functionality of the previous (legacy) boons systems that our current system is built upon, the first two "Advanced Boon" selections within this tier should only cost one boon point "per rank", regardless of which two boons are chosen, and you commit to ranking up. Additional boon selections (after the first two selections), vary in cost and are incremental, increase by one additional boon point (per rank) for each additional selection.

In my warlock's case (and now my tank), each of the various 'Advanced Boon' options remain locked-in, at varying and much higher, pre-determined costs per selection that DOES NOT reset when retrained (either by paying 60k AD, or utilizing rare and difficult to acquire Retraining Tokens) or when a new loadout is purchased and used. Attempting to finagle the erratically displayed, fluctuating costs to something resembling base-line normal remains an exercise in absolute futility, as the initial, predetermined, bugged costs override any logical, expectations once you press "Commit".
