Описание к видео Why AusPost Just Stopped Sending Parcels To America

AUSPOST TARIFFS
Now, if you wanted to send a parcel to the US today, you might run into some trouble because Australia Post has suspended sending parcels to the US. Well, for the most part anyway. And that's because of something you've probably heard about many times: tariffs. Tariffs are basically a tax or fee that gets added to something coming into a country, the US has been introducing a lot of them. Until now, most letters and parcels to the US have been able to enter without being taxed thanks to something called the "de minimis" exemption, but almost a month ago, President Trump signed an executive order ending that exemption, which means after Friday, anything valued between 100 and 800 US dollars becomes more expensive to send there. That's a real logistical headache for AusPost, which is why they've had to pull the plug on low-value parcels. Carriers in many other countries have had to do the same, and for business owners, it's not good. So how long will this last? We don't know. AusPost says it's a very reluctant decision, and that they're talking with US authorities and postal services to find a solution. In the meantime, anything under 100 US dollars, including letters and documents, can still get through.

XAI SUES OPENAI & APPLE
Two of Elon Musk's companies, X and xAI are suing Apple and OpenAI. The lawsuit accuses Apple and OpenAI of being anti-competitive after Apple partnered with the ChatGPT makers last year to use their AI in iPhones. Elon Musk and OpenAI have been bitter rivals since about 2018, with multiple lawsuits being filed over the years. In this latest lawsuit, Mr Musk's companies say that the new partnership has made it harder for other companies like his to compete and innovate, as both OpenAI and Apple already control the majority of their respective markets. Apple hasn't responded to the lawsuit yet, but OpenAI rejects the allegations and says this is consistent with Mr Musk's ongoing pattern of harassment.

SEAGULLS PARLIAMENT HOUSE
Hundreds of seagulls are swarming around Parliament House in Canberra and now maintenance services have come up with plans to try to stop them. These little guys have made themselves pretty comfortable at Parliament house with this little island out on the forecourt proving to be a pretty good nesting ground. But, their stay has ruffled quite a few feathers. The seagulls have also been leaving their mark on the front of the building each night with their poo. It's why the Parliament's maintenance staff have started covering where they nest with grow cloths. But, it hasn't stopped them from making themselves at home when the sun goes down. Experts say the seagulls won't be here for much longer and are expected to clear the area within a few weeks to find another place to rest.

CABLE SURFING
First up, to the US where skysurfer Sean MacCormac has just become the first person to surf San Francisco's Bay Bridge. He jumped out of a helicopter from height of about 1600 metres, and skydived his way down to the top of the bridge, where he skysurfed the suspension cables.

BIKE CHEF
Now to a chef in Denmark, who's turned his bike into a mobile kitchen, hosting unique culinary adventures. The idea first came about when Morten was told off for illegally barbecuing in a public park. So he simply put his barbecue on his bike and kept cooking as he rode off.

BALD COMPETITION
And finally to a competition celebrating bald heads in the US. More than 60 contestants took part, some just coming as they are, others donning costumes.
