This is my application and demonstration video of Shea Moisture's Curling Soufflé. I purchased the product from Target.

The Ingredients:

Aqueous Infusion of Agave Teqilana Leaf Extract and Sugar Cane Extract, Pectin, Vegetable Glycerin, Adansonia Digitata Pulp (Baobab) Extract, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin B-5, Aloe Extract, Vitamin E, Linseed/Flax Seed Extract, Hibiscus Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Essential Oil Blend

I wanted to be fair and have clean, freshly shampooed hair before giving the full review. I even used Shea Moisture's Moisture Retention Shampoo and the Deep Treatment Masque. I had to reach into my Product Junkie (PJ) stash for the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle for more slip during the detangle.

I put my natural hair into 2 pony tails while my hair slightly air dried.

I applied Shea Moisture's Curling Soufflé to damp hair. Since I'd seen some reviews regarding the oily/stickiness of the product, I conducted an informal experiment of trying to combat that issue by mixing the Shea Moisture Curling Soufflé with Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera gel.

The 4.5 pH of the product allowed my ends to coil.

My hair took a very long time to air dry. Even after 6 hours, my hair was still damp. I had to use the diffuser and use the tension method.
The tension method is applying heat to stretch the hair while avoiding the ends.
My hair felt less tacky than expected but tacky nonetheless. There was great definition. I don't think the Aloe Vera gel made much of an impact on the Shea Moisture Curling Soufflé. My hair did not feel soft because of the coating of tacky residue left behind. It just feels like something that needs to be washed out.

I've read that many shoppers are returning jars of hair products. I wonder what really happens to those products? Are they disposed or put back on the store shelves?

I don't think this product will work for me. But I did purchase an extra jar to share. I will pick a recipient and announce the name on Friday, September 23, 2011.
