Cold Backed is a term used to describe a horse that shows sensitivity in the back area when saddled.
It can manifest in many ways such as flinching while grooming the back, sinking down and away from the saddle when a rider mounts, or all out bucking.
Most horses need time warming up their muscles with lunge work before a rider gets on.
In this video, I am working with my mare Tango who has been out to pasture for a few years.
