In cricket, a shot is the way a batter hits the ball. Here are some of the most common cricket shots, explained simply:
🏏 Basic Cricket Shots
Straight Drive – Hit straight past the bowler along the ground.
Cover Drive – A classic shot played through the covers (off side).
On Drive – Played to the leg side, along the ground.
Defensive Shot (Block) – Used to protect the wicket, not to score runs.
🏏 Attacking Shots
Pull Shot – Played to a short ball, hit to the leg side.
Hook Shot – Like the pull, but to a higher ball around head height.
Cut Shot – Played to a short ball outside off stump, hit square on the off side.
Sweep Shot – Played to spin bowling, sweeping the ball to the leg side.
