You may have realized after sending the request that you don't know the person well. Or you may have accidentally sent the request and want to take it back.

Keep in mind that you can only cancel a friend request if it has not been accepted yet. Once a friend request has been accepted, the option to cancel it will no longer be available.

To cancel sent friend request on Facebook,
1. First, open the Facebook app on your mobile device.
2. Now, look for the three horizontal lines and tap on it. On an iPhone, you'll find this icon in the bottom right corner; for other devices, it's in the top right corner.
3. After that scroll down and tap on the "Friends" option.
4. Now, tap See All next to Friend requests. If you don't have any pending requests, tap Requests at the top.
5. Find and tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.
6. Now, at the bottom, tap View sent requests and find the friend request you want to cancel.
7. In the list of sent requests, find the specific friend request you wish to cancel.
8. Finally, tap on "Cancel," located below the name of the person whose friend request you want to cancel.
