The Retired R42 Subway Car Fleet [ Part I ]

Описание к видео The Retired R42 Subway Car Fleet [ Part I ]

As of this past week(or last week, I forgot), the R42 subway car fleet has been completely retired(at least, internally). These cars lasted in service for 50 years, which is astounding. Their reliability got worse and worse over time, especially this year. This caused them to slowly phase out the remainder of the R42 fleet entirely.

The R32 subway car fleet is now the oldest rail fleet currently running in the entire world, which is even more crazier!

What you'll see here are many different videos of the R42 fleet in service on the A, C, E, F, J, M, R & Z lines. This is the first of several parts to be uploaded. These videos were taken between 2008 and 2009. You'll also see some retired R40M cars in these videos as well, as they had the tendency to mix & match R40Ms with R42s to make 8 or 10-car consists.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video. Subscribe & stay tuned for more!!
