But Emperor Licinius's persecution was approaching.
Imprisoned by Governor Agricola, Blaise maintained his unshakable faith. On the way to the dungeon, he performed the miracle that would make him known worldwide: he instantly healed a child who was choking. That's why, even today, when someone chokes, the invocation echoes: "Saint Blaise protect you!"
