The broader market S&P Index is up 16% versus last year. Travel sectors are virtually all in the green now with cruise lines, ground transportation, and airlines showing the largest gains.
The best-performing travel stocks over the past year are Avianca up 235%, Royal Caribbean up 205%, LATAM Airlines up 159%, followed by Uber, Carnival, SkyWest, Copa, Norwegian, Wynn Resorts, and Embraer up 77%.
The worst-performing global travel stocks over the past 12 months are Sabre down 30%, Hawaiian Air down 24%, Pebblebrook down 24%, followed by Xenia, Yatra, Penn Gaming, Spirit, Chatham Lodging, RLJ Lodging Trust, and Walt Disney down 10%.
Currently, the world’s most valuable travel-related companies are Walt Disney with a market cap of 157 billion dollars, followed by Boeing at 140 billion, Airbus at 119 billion, Booking Holdings at 109 billion, then Airbnb, Uber, Marriott, Las Vegas Sands, Hilton, and Amadeus at 34 billion dollars.
