Krokodil is a Russian drug which is very easy/cheap to make and highly addictive, yet it also causes necrotizing skin lesions--these lesions progress to patches of scaly black skin (thus the drug's crocodile name) and eventually to the point where the skin simply rots off. In short, Krokidil is a nightmare drug.

Over the last few years, several cases of krokodil necrosis have been reported in the USA, foreshadowing a potential for the drug to move into our drug markets. This situation gives us a very good reason why many lesser drugs must be legalized.

Criminalizing less-dangerous drugs like pot leads to a situation where super-addictive and dangerous drugs are let into the market--people are going to get high and, with a lack of legal alternatives, they will be forced into the illicit markets.

Legalize and regulate less-dangerous drugs so that these hyper-dangerous drugs are cut off at the knees before they become an even larger problem.
