Come Wednesday, diplomatic and defense officials from Seoul and Washington will meet in Hawaii for the first negotiations on their tenth Special Measures Agreement.
From 1967, America covered the costs of its troops in this country, with Seoul providing land and facilities.
But since 1991, the two sides signed the Special Measures Agreements to share the cost burden.
Under the previous SMA, Korea has been paying around 920-million dollars, annally, that's 46-percent of the total cost.
The Trump administration is expected to ask for more... and Seoul says will strive to strike a deal that's reasonable and beneficial for South Koreans.
