This video is a follow-up to my last video about repairing corrupt Fortnite Replays. Since the last video I have had many people leave comments confirming success with the method covered in that last video. Just like myself, others were able to retrieve their replay files. At the same time there were many that were having trouble using the HxD to recover their out-of-date replays.

I wanted to make this follow-up video after doing a few tests on my end with the replay files within the current update cycle of the game. As you know Epic updates this game very frequently. I haven't been playing the game much lately, but I went in after the last update and created a couple of quick replays. I then renamed and relocated one of the replays outside of the Fortnite Replay Folder. I did this to see if that would help prevent the files from being changed to become unreadable.

I also went ahead and used the method covered in the last video to fix one of the other current replays that just went out of date and the method worked without any problem. The replay that was relocated and then moved back was considered out-of-date in-game. So obviously the game is looking for key data within the replay files in order to play them. So at the time of this video I consider the replay files I was working with to be recoverable by using the method shown in the last video and within this video once more. But I can't say how long the file will be usable inside the game. So the conclusion is basically, use your files as quickly as possible, if you need some clips from a replay, don't wait too long. Depending on how much Epic changes the game, the replays may become unplayable. So that would explain why some people could not get this method to work, they simply may have been working with replays that were just too old to be recovered. As you can see there are a lot of data points, it would take way too long to try and figure out all the areas to change and it would not be worth it. So use them within the same week you created the replay moment within game. Simply go in, record your replays and angles you need with the camera tools in the replay system.
