Follow me through this Switzerland travel guide with 5 unforgettable outdoor activities. When you are traveling through Switzerland in 2021 there are many things to do. These are some of my favorite budget things for a perfect Swiss alps vacation.

A visit at the Gelmersee or Lake Gelmer is definitely recomendet during summer. One of the steepest funiculars in the world takes you to this hydroelectric reservoir in the Grimselwelt / Grimselregion. Many beautiful hikes through the Swiss alps are waiting for you up there. Another highlight: To cross the famous Handeckfall Brücke / Handeckfall suspension bridge.

For more action when you travel through Switzerland you can rent an E-Mountainbike for a day. Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland in the Canton of Bern is a great outdoor activity. Enjoy beautiful swiss mountain views while your mountainbike takes you through beautiful hills.

A perfect rainy day activity is a visit at the St. Beatus Höhlen / St. Beatus Caves. If the weather is bad while you travel Switzerland you can go explore the tunnels that take you deep inside the mountains. The St. Beatus Caves are located at the beautiful Thunersee / Lake of Thun so you can finish your outdoor adventure in Switzerland with a nice boat ride. It is one of the best things to do in Interlaken Switzerland.

The next outdoor adventure in this Switzerland travel guide takes you to the beautifull village Zermatt. Zermatt in the Canton of Wallis is a great starting point for several hikes and a perfect place for amazing Matterhorn views. I take you up to the Rothorn over 3000 meters above sea level. From there you can hike up to the Oberrothorn and then make your way down on one of the most beautiful hikes in Switzerland until you end up in Zermatt again. Also this is a great place for some Swiss alps drone shots.

If you want a great and accessable view when you are travelling through Switzeralnd in 2021 you should visit the Harder Kulm. The Harder Kulm is located near Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland in the Canton of Bern. You can hike up there or take a funicular. Up there you have an amazing view over the Swiss Alps, the famous mountain range Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, Interlaken the Brienzersee / Lake of Brienz and the Thunersee / Lake of Thun.
