Historic Trail Food for Hiking

Описание к видео Historic Trail Food for Hiking

I cook two portable foods that would even work with prepping today: beef pocket soup and corn flour rockahominy. Through the lens of William Byrd II, we look at combining what he called "the essence of meat" and the "essence of bread" for a delicious and filling early form of a dehydrated camping food.

For detailed instructions on making the pocket soup, please see the link to Townsends Pocket Soup video:    • Easiest Way to Make Portable Soup

The quote from William Byrd is read by William Byrd IV, a descendent and namesake of the original. Many thanks to him for his time.

Thanks to Deke Wiggins for the fine music once again.
