How To Set A Seiko Turtle Watch

In this video, Paul Anthony provides a quick and easy explanation of how to set the time, day, and date on a Seiko Turtle watch.

While the watch used in this video is a Seiko SRPE05, these same steps can be followed when setting any Automatic Seiko watch with a Day-Date calendar function.

Even though these are different models, as both feature the 4R36 movement, the method is the same.

The crown of the Seiko Turtle has 4 positions:
Position 0: Screwed-down crown
Position 1: Crown unscrewed, can be rotated to wind the watch
Position 2: Change time
Position 3: Change Day or Date by rotating clockwise (day) or counter-clockwise (date)

***If the current time on the watch is between 10PM and 4AM ("Danger Zone") move the time outside of this range before changing the day or date to avoid damaging the movement***
