114th Day of the full-scale war in Ukraine provoked by russia. More bombings, deaths and much destruction. And yet, victory and peace are the goals of Ukrainians. In this dark period, we still continue talking and praying for peace. But how does one talk and even think about peace in such horrible circumstances?
Hear from three prominent speakers at our online seminar organized by the Institute of Religion and Society of the Ukrainian Catholic University (Інститут релігії та суспільства УКУ).

Christopher John Cocksworth is a Church of England bishop in the open evangelical tradition. He is the current Bishop of Coventry; prior to becoming bishop he was the Principal of Ridley Hall, Cambridge. Bishop Christopher serves as the Church of England's lead spokesperson for foreign affairs in the House of Lords. This focus on foreign affairs is inspired by Coventry’s ministry of reconciliation. The other issues are education and beginning and end of life. Some of his books are: Being a Priest Today (Canterbury Press-SCM, 2004 and Second Edition, 2006). Holding Together: Gospel, Church and Spirit – the essentials of Christian identity (Canterbury Press-SCM, 2008). Seeing Jesus and Being Seen by Him (SPCK, 2014). He has 5 sons.


Myroslav Marynovych, vice rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University, president of the Institute of Religion and Society, UCU, founding member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group and former soviet dissident (7 years of strict regime camps and 5 years of exile). Honorary President of the Pen Club Ukraine. Ukrainian human rights activist and writer. His interests: human rights, especially religious freedom, ecumenical dialogue and Christian-Judeo relations. Among his books: "The Gospel after the God's Fool", 1990. "Ukraine on the Margins of the Holy Scripture", 1991. "Atoning for Communism" and "Ukraine: A Road through the Desert" (1993). Archimandrite Cyril Hovorun is a Professor of Ecclesiology, International Relations and Ecumenism. As a scholar of contemporary Orthodoxy his main fields of expertise are the early Christian traditions and ecclesiology. As a research fellow at Yale University, he has worked on the project about the church in the public square, focusing on the patterns of social behaviour of the Eastern churches. Fr. Hovorun taught theology in more then 50 Universities around the globe. He is a member of the World Council of Churches. Former head of the external relations committee of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Some of his books are: Political Orthodoxies: The Unorthodoxies of the Church Coerced (Minneapolis: Fortress, 2018).
