Sabudana thalipeeth is a traditional Maharashtrian flatbread or pancake made from tapioca pearls (sabudana), mashed potatoes, and crushed peanuts. It's a popular dish often prepared during fasting periods (vrat/upvas) like Navratri, as it's filling and doesn't use grains.

साबुदाणा थालीपीठ | How to make sabudana Thalipeeth | sabudana thalipeeth | upvasache thalipeeth | farali thalipeeth

Ingredients
1 cup overnight soaked Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls):
2 medium Potatoes: Boiled, peeled, and mashed.
1/4 cup Roasted Peanut powder
2-3 Green Chilies: Finely chopped.
½ tsp Sugar
1/4 cup ghee
Salt to taste:

Oil or Ghee: For cooking the thalipeeth.

Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, add the soaked sabudana.
Add the mashed potatoes, coarsely crushed peanuts, chopped green chilies salt, and sugar (if using).
Mix all the ingredients well with your hands to form a cohesive dough. Do not add any extra water. The moisture from the potatoes and the soaked sabudana should be enough to bind the mixture.
Heat a tawa (griddle or flat pan) over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil or ghee.
Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a ball.
On a parchment paper or plastic sheet: Grease a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Place the dough ball on it and gently pat it down with oiled fingers to form a round thalipeeth. This method makes it easier to transfer the thalipeeth to the tawa without breaking.
Make 1-2 small holes in the center of the thalipeeth. This helps it cook evenly from the inside.
Carefully transfer the shaped thalipeeth to the hot tawa.
Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges and in the central holes.
Cook on one side until it turns golden brown and crispy.
Flip the thalipeeth and cook the other side until it's also golden and cooked through.
Serve the hot, crispy Sabudana Thalipeeth immediately with a side of yogurt, peanut chutney, or green chutney. It's a satisfying and delicious meal, perfect for a quick breakfast or snack
