Saltar’s Point Park

Saltar’s Point Beach boasts 500 feet of inviting shoreline on Cormorant Passage, right in the historic town of Steilacoom, Washington. This rocky beach welcomes you to walk the shore and splash in the waves!

To get to the beach, which is also called Gordon's Point, you'll need to cross the bridge over the train tracks that separate the beach from the rest of the town. The bridge can be found at the corner of Champion Street and 1st Street, where there is a small parking area. Once across, you will encounter some steep metal steps that some visitors find too steep for comfort. With lots of logs to sit on, you can take in the sights of this quiet beach, including Ketron Island, McNeil Island and Anderson Island in the distance. Two stone buildings dating from the 1930's are on site to view, and the remains of the marina can be seen on the far west end. While the marina is considered private property. This beach's quiet atmosphere is anideal spot for a relaxing picnic lunch on tables or in the pavilion which has grills.
