In recent years, Clint Barton has been portrayed in a more grounded and relatable manner. The acclaimed comic series Hawkeye by Matt Fraction and David Aja focused on Clint's life outside the Avengers, highlighting his role as a street-level hero protecting his neighborhood. The series also introduced Kate Bishop, a young archer who takes up the mantle of Hawkeye and becomes Clint's protégé.

Hawkeye's character gained widespread recognition through the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), portrayed by Jeremy Renner.
