Grammy Award-Winning Musician LeAnn Rimes on Dealing with a "Lack of Joy"

In this episode of Scan My Brain, Grammy award-winning musician ‪@leannrimes‬ visits Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics to get her brain scanned and find some answers to her recent emotional struggles. LeAnn discusses some of the traumatic events in her past that may still be lingering in her brain, and Dr. Amen reveals these physical manifestations in LeAnn's brain SPECT scans. Dr. Amen then goes over some of the strategies that can improve both LeAnn's thought patterns and the physical function of her brain.

The superstar singer, actress, and author has spoken publicly about dealing with a lack of motivation, a shortage of energy, anxious thoughts, and a serious lack of joy in her life. Her brain scan revealed some surprises about dopamine, depression, and anxiety.

Like many young people, LeAnn grew up with a lot of stress. Stress can take many forms. For some kids, it’s due to neglectful parents, domestic violence, abuse, food insecurity, bullying, or other issues. For LeAnn, it took shape in her teenage years when at the age of 16 she sued her father, who was her manager at the time, and her record label.
