The piece of land cultivated for the first time on the surface of Gilgit-Baltistan is Summayar, District Nagar.Sumerian nation is the first civilized nation of the world. The origin of the Sumerians is Sumer, the area adjacent to the Arabian Desert and Persian Gulf. The Sumerian language is generally regarded as a language isolate in linguistics because it belongs to no known language family. “Brushiski” is the language of Sumerians which now exist in Nagar, Hunza and in some valleys of District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan. According to a Book written on the History of Northern Area (Gilgit-Baltistan) by “Rasheed Akhtar Nadvi” the part of land cultivated for the first time on the Pak land is Northern Area, the Sumeri are the first inhabitants of the Northern Area (Gilgit-Baltistan). They were forced to migrate from Iraq. In this book he refers from a book (Pre Drave don of India) that a battle was fought between Sumeri and Arian nation in Sumer (Sumayar) which was won by Sumerian. In this book he alsomentions that the three rocks on the Karakorum Highway on which some ancient languages written, were the writings of Sumerians. (Page No.92-93) The camp area of Arian force is now known “UL-KHAI”. The constructed walls for their own protection over that hilly area still show its reality and prehistoric identity. We have very old civilizations and cultures which needs proper research. Sumayar is well known in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan for its precious stones, in large quantity, in its best quality, unique in size and known the 2nd class Diamond of the world. Many people of the area are the professional businessmen of Gem stones and nearly 50% of the inhabitants of Sumayar are associated with Gems Business and mining.
