Once upon a time, all the mice in a big house gathered together to talk about a very serious problem: the cat. The cat was quick, sneaky, and always trying to catch them.

The mice thought and thought. Many ideas were shared, but none seemed good enough. Then, one clever mouse stood up and said,

“I have the perfect plan! Let’s tie a bell around the cat’s neck. Whenever she comes near, the bell will jingle, and we’ll hear her in time to hide!”

The mice clapped their little paws in excitement. “Brilliant! Wonderful! Let’s do it!” they all squeaked.

But then, an old wise mouse stood up slowly and said,

“Yes, it’s a very smart idea indeed. But tell me, my friends—who is brave enough to put the bell on the cat?”
