Grattan’s research has found that by introducing a whole-school approach to curriculum planning, school principals can boost staff morale, enhance teaching quality, and lift student performance at their school.

But many schools don’t work this way. Last year, we surveyed 2,243 teachers and principals and found that only 15% of teachers have access to a common bank of high-quality curriculum materials for all their classes. And half of teachers are planning on their own.

This is where our guide comes in. It draws on case studies from five role-model schools to provide practical advice for transforming approaches to curriculum planning.
