Описание к видео Should You Airlayer Your Plants?

Only if you want these to happen 👇👇👇

I have always been a fan of water propagation, but when I discovered air layering, this method has been a game changer for my plants.

But what is air layering?

Air layering is a plant propagation technique that involves creating a new plant by encouraging roots to form on a stem or branch while it is still attached to the parent plant.

This method offers these benefits:

1️⃣ Faster propagation
It can produce mature, rooted plants more quickly than growing from seeds or taking cuttings, which often require a longer period to establish roots.

2️⃣ Larger and more mature plants
Since the leaf being air layered still gets nutrients from its parent plant, it is able to establish a more developed root system. This can result in a larger and more mature leaf/plant compared to starting from a seed or small cutting.

3️⃣ Increased success rate
Air layering tends to have a higher success rate compared to some other propagation methods. This is because the stem or branch being air layered continues to receive nutrients and water from the parent plant during the process.

4️⃣ No interruption of growth
Unlike traditional cuttings, where you remove a portion of the parent plant, air layering doesn’t disrupt the growth of the parent plant. It can continue to thrive while producing new plants.

5️⃣ Space saving
Since all the leaves are still attached to the parent plant, you don’t need to make space for new plant trays to house your propagations. More space saved, means more plants to keep, which is a good thing right?

When I want my plants to develop bigger leaves or just start propagation without taking cuttings of my plants, I just air layer my plants and leave them for at least 2 - 3 weeks. By then, they begin to adapt to the substrate and develop their own roots, which always fascinates me 👩‍🌾
