The Lunatic Express is a 2021 movie made by filmmaker Massimilian Breeder and the actress Solweig R.Lizlow.
If follows a young woman with a group of local friends in a journey across Kenya,
along the railroad tracks of the Lunatic Express;
a name coined by Charles Miller for the Kenya-Uganda railway, to remind us of the insane idea to build a train across
the Savana, dense jungles, and wooden bridges, where more than 2000 Indian workers died during the construction of
the line, many of them eaten by lions or killed by the elements.
At every stop of the train, they encounter people whose lives have been dramatically impacted by the past two years of pandemics.
The cost of pain in Africa, the plague of HIV, the systemic killing of hundreds of elderly Giriama,
lives ravished by the collapse of the economy, and other voices of a forgotten fragment of this world.  
Each person they meet builds a pannel of 1 meter by 1 meter with scrap wood.
Together with her crew of friends, she hatches an elaborate plan to bring all the panels together into a billboard at the end of their journey, a massive sign with a message for the entire world.
An impossible project carried by train, by car, and by foot where no roads could take them to their destination.
