This is an old classic from '98 that needs no introductions. It inspired countless mods and games, and echoes of its influence can be felt in games to this day. Half Life is a game I've wanted to play for a while, but never really found the time to. Given my recent feelings on another game, I wanted to play this to gain some perspective.

We play as Gordon Freeman, coming into work at Black Mesa as a level 3 research associate. Since we're in the test chamber the words "guinea pig" and "canary" come to mind. Not without reason either seeing as as soon as the test sample is placed, the entire facility starts falling apart. Now we have to try to get out of this place alive, through crumbling hallways and alien infested vents.

So uh, I'm starting to see more of the influences this had on the other game I was getting perspective for. Honestly kind of struggling to figure out where to go now between areas. I also can't really remember why we had to launch that rocket??? I remember something about meeting up with the lambda team, and if that was them, the soldiers tried to give us a one way ticket to the meeting in the afterlife. We're kinda getting to portions where we're doing more but not getting as much story besides what's going on around us.

I may just have to find a guide and keep it up on the side for how often I had to look stuff up this time around.
