Title: Community Partnerships to Enhance Reach and Effectiveness of the Arthritis Foundation's Walk With Ease

Presenter: Gregory J. Welk, Ph. D.
Gregory J. Welk is the Barbara E. Forker Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and a Distinguished Professor of Human Sciences at Iowa State University (ISU). His research interests focus on the assessment and promotion of physical activity in different populations and settings. A unifying theme in his work is the translation of research into practice. He currently coordinates the campus-wide Translational Research Network at ISU (www.uturn.iastate.edu) and leads several translational projects through this group. He has been leading the statewide dissemination of the Arthritis Foundation's evidence-based Walk with Ease (WWE) intervention in collaboration with the Iowa Community HUB. He is the PI for a CDC-funded cooperative agreement focused on fall prevention as well as the CDC-funded cooperative agreement focused on facilitating the dissemination of fall prevention and evidence-based arthritis programs across the state.
