DJ Vekked - 2011 DMC Canadian Finals Winning Routine

I've never posted this video before, but this was my last bedroom practice before the 2011 Canadian DMC finals when I ended up winning my first national DJ title. One month prior I hadn't scratched in front of a crowd in over 4 years, and had never won a DJ battle in my life. I'm not sure most of my friends and family even realized I still practiced almost every day haha.

Not many have seen this set because after winning I chose not to go to the world finals because I knew deep down that I wasn't ready yet, both in my stage experience and skill set. And, despite what many others thought at the time, I knew it wouldn't be my last chance to compete at the world finals. So in a very controversial decision, I decided to stay back and started preparing for 2012 right away... and the rest was history ;)

This was my first "real" routine (that I spent more than a couple weeks on), so it's a bit rough around the edges, but it has sentimental value. Also, I'm definitely in my underwear... that's how you know the vid was never meant to be posted :D
