Story Explanation

Abby meets a seemingly polite girl, named Paola, and become best friends, after being friends with each other for a year, Abby gets into an accident saving her brother, Josh. Paola helps with her recovery. After it’s been officially two years since they met, Paola asks out Abby to be her girlfriend. Abby accepts and she realizes she’s made a big mistake. Paola’s possessive and manipulative behavior comes to light when Paola forces Abby to have sex. After, Abby feels as if it was her fault that the relationship begun to turn emotionally and sexually abusive. Abby struggled with her self worth and is being haunted by these two white blank models with collars, in her head. Josh takes notice and connects the similarities in Abby’s behavior to when he was raped by his Aunt Kayla when he was younger. Abby continues to struggle with her feelings and fears, and the one question as to why Paola would betray her like this. The two models that seemed to be haunting Abby, turn out to be victims of rape and sexual assault, that unfortunately lost their lives, and fight their own selves seeing what Abby is going through, and start the chain of reactions that will help Abby overcome this. Later on, Josh catches Paola forcing Abby into sex, and is painfully reminded of his past trauma that he does still struggle with. He defends his sister the most he can, but Paola plays on his emotionally vulnerability and says that since he’s a boy, the event isn’t that big of a deal and he probably found it enjoyable. After hearing that, Abby snaps, with the help of the forces that’s been trying to push her into realizing her worth, she throws the precious rose at Paola, the symbol of their friendship, and what little faith and hope Abby had for Paola to still be a good person and the person she fell in love with. Abby yells at Paola and tells her to leave. Paola, being hungry for power over Abby, chokes her out of fear and anger over Abby breaking out of Paola’s facade. Paola is then arrested by Abby’s mother after Josh ran to get help. Paola is tried as an adult and is instead sent to prison. Abby knowing how powerless she felt during that time, grows up to start her own movement for both men and women who fall victim to sexual assault. She helps those who feel as if they don’t have a voice and instead of seeing her trauma as a weakness, uses it as a will to fight for those who need help the most.
