The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are likely to open higher today, tracking gains in global markets.

The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 25,160 level, a premium of nearly 80 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The Indian stock market was shut on Monday, January 26, 2026, on account of Republic Day 2026.

On Friday, the equity market ended sharply lower, with the benchmark Nifty 50 closing near 25,000 level.
