Armatures: Step One to Making Humanoid Miniatures from Scratch

Описание к видео Armatures: Step One to Making Humanoid Miniatures from Scratch

Hello Crafters-

I'm Andy, and I started making D&D/tabletop miniatures from scratch a while back and have found it incredibly therapeutic and exciting so I've decided to start filming my process of making minis. I am a huge fan of so many tabletop crafting channels on YouTube but have patiently waited years to see one of those channels make actual humanoid miniatures (not just large monsters, although those are great too!), but none of them ever did.

In the age of widely accessible 3D printers, trying to make your own miniatures from scratch might seem a bit outlandish or outdated. However, I wanted to make a video series dedicated to those miniature enthusiasts/collectors who would rather enjoy the process of making their own miniatures in spite of 3D printing technology. I also wanted to approach this series more as a way to document my own progress and growth in the hobby rather than a tutorial vibe. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'd love to become one some day!

Too many times I've had a very specific idea for a character/creature in one of my campaigns, and no miniature I had (of the hundreds) seemed to be a close enough representation for the tabletop. After some trial and error, I've gotten pretty good at making armatures for my custom minis. Now, I am on a quest to build my mini-making skills to the point where I can create tabletop miniatures for the characters I have always imagined that are of relatively comparable quality to those being mass produced and sold. In doing so, I am hoping to save the money I would otherwise have spent buying miniatures or 3D printer supplies, and have a blast delving deep into my hobby in the process. If nothing else, this will be a fun tribute for me to look back on any progress I might make in the hobby. At best, I hope to add something brand new and unique to the crafting community and inspire others to try their hand at making a one-of-a-kind custom miniature from scratch.

If you're interested in joining me on this epic adventure, make sure to subscribe! Either way, thank you so much to anyone who watches my video, I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my craft.
