in 1988, Universal Studios in Los Angeles introduced the Star Trek Adventure which is where crowd members become cast members and act out a Star Trek skit on-stage in front of an audience.

Later, they reduced this event down to a personal video where fans could sit in the captain's chair in front of a green screen and be placed into the action, all by yourself or with a family.member.

Originally, though, it was a major event where you went up on stage in front of the crowd to act out a role that you are given and then you went out to the crowd to watch the completed video.

William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Deforest Kelley, James Doohan, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig and Grace Lee Whitney were there on the first day it opened. Attendance was by pre-registered invitation only.

I was chosen and I played an Engineering Officer. My girlfriend at the time, Amy Sturgeon, also played an Engineering Officer along side me. With us in engineering, the ship did not stand a chance LOL
