Following a victory at the Kingdome over the Seattle Seahawks in week 14 of the 1980 NFL season, the New York Giants were set to make the cross-country flight from Seattle to Newark to return home. Instead, what followed was a disaster of a flight where the team almost did not survive, as the plane had to undergo crash landing procedures, with the pilots not being able to fully identify the problem until two minutes before touchdown. This is the story behind one of the craziest flights in NFL history, and a true almost-disastrous situation.
