The Philodendron Pink Princess (PPP), aka Philodendron Erubescens, is a one of the prettiest houseplants which has gone viral among planty folk over the last few years. She is absolutely giving Barbie-core and has fairly easy care requirements.

Showering your houseplants is a beneficial habit to get into, both for the plant and for you! Here are some of the advantages:
1. Dust Removal: Showering helps remove dust from the leaves, which can improve the plant's ability to photosynthesise and stay healthy.
2. Humidity Boost: A shower can increase the humidity around the plant, which is beneficial for tropical species like the Bird of Paradise. Higher humidity can promote better growth and reduce the risk of leaf drop.
3. Pest Control: Rinsing the plant can help dislodge and wash away pests like spider mites and aphids, which might be hiding on the leaves.
4. Foliage Cleaning: Clean leaves are more effective at capturing sunlight and can contribute to the overall health of the plant.
5. Overall Health: Regular showers can help reduce the chance of fungal and bacterial infections by keeping the plant's environment cleaner.

When showering your Philodendron, use lukewarm water and avoid direct, strong water pressure to prevent damaging the plant. If possible, let the plant drain thoroughly after the shower to avoid root rot. I recommend having all of your houseplants in nursery pots which have ample drainage!
Pop your plant in a bowl or bucket before showering to stop soil running down the drain.

Watering
Generally, I water mine weekly in spring and summer and slightly less, every 10 days(ish), in autumn and winter.

Philodendron Sunlight Needs
The Pink Princess Philodendron will thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. It can also tolerate lower light conditions, but let's be honest, 'tolerating' is never the ideal condition. This Philodendron will thrive with bright indirect light for at least 8 hours a day. This can be either natural light or under grow lights. 

Humidity
Being a tropical plant, the PPP was born for a high humidity environment. To meet humidity needs of you philodendron plant, you can mist the leaves regularly, place a humidifier nearby, bring into the bathroom when you shower, or straight up shower the plant (in slightly warm water).

Philodendron Soil
A well-draining, aerated potting mix is essential for the Pink Princess Philodendron. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark works well, ensuring both moisture retention and good drainage.

Make a Pink Princess Climb
If your pink princess's leaves are getting smaller, it is time to make it climb! The Pink Princess Philodendron is a climber in its natural habitat and this plant uses its aerial roots to climb up trees and other structures.
