'Sara Bangla Wrestling Competition 2026', organized by Basudebpur Sanghati Club and Barisha Youth Club in association with West Bengal Wrestling Association and Honorary Consul of Mongolia, West Bengal, was held successfully at Behala's Bakultala Dutter Math on 17th January, 2026.
About 100 talented male and female wrestlers participated in the competition, thrilling a large crowd of sports enthusiasts who gathered to witness the intense bouts on the mat.
The event was supported by HELLO KOLKATA (3D News-Media) and MCKV CEO Prof. Dr. Parthasarathi Chakraborthy, President of LIONS CLUB OF KOLKATA MAGNATES, in fond memory of his beloved beloved wife LATE PROF Dr. Lina Chakraborthy.
This mega sporting event is held every year where Mr. G. G. Dalmia (Hony. CONSUL Of Mongolia, West Bengal) helps a lot towards the development of Wrestling in West Bengal.
On 17th Jan. eve, many dignitaries were present to motivate the wrestlers, including Ward No. 126 Councillor Ghanashree Bagh, WBWA President Goutam Ghosh, WFI VP Ashit Das, Sovan Chakraborty (official of Mongolia Consul General), social activist Dipankar Makishari, Sudip Roy, eminent lawyer Jayprakash Chakraborty and others.
The organizers expressed hope that such competitions would provide talented wrestlers from villages and towns an opportunity to shine at the national level, representing West Bengal with pride.
