During his visit to Singapore, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association is partnering with India to support the country’s approved semiconductor projects. The minister held extensive discussions with Singapore companies on industry experience, key challenges, and ways to accelerate the movement of equipment and materials critical for chip manufacturing. Vaishnaw also focused on skilling Indian technicians and engineers for semiconductor facilities during meetings with officials from MTI, Enterprise SG, Institute of Technical Education Services, and Singapore Polytechnic. He further met Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister & Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong, with discussions centered on expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in emerging technology sectors.
