Sumit Woods: In today’s podcast, we have with us a builder in Mumbai who has been in business for 40 years, built and sold 5,500 apartments, completed every building and is even listed on the stock exchange – but no one knows him.

We meet the low-profile Bhushan Nemlekar of Sumit Woods.
After failing to clear the exams of Chartered Accountancy, Bhushan joined his father in the real estate business. He tells us about his journey from selling the first home, to getting the first loan, to getting listed on the stock exchange.

He mentions the myths about builders making lot of money and warns that many projects are likely to get stalled once again in Mumbai.

He breaks convention and says Real Estate is not Location, Location and Location. Every location has its Mercedes and Maruti as wealth creation gets distributed across the board.

He warns home buyers that buying a very small home is a bad idea as it will not be sustainable.
