West Bengal Train Accident । Kanchanjunga Express। Kavach System । InNews । Drishti IAS

West Bengal Kanchanjungha Express train accident took place on 17 june when the Kolkata-bound train collided with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri railway station. One of the compartments of the express train got detached following the collision and settled above the locomotive of the goods train. After this accident, discussion on Kavach system also started. Kavach is a cab signaling train control system with anti-collision features developed by the Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) in association with three Indian vendors. It has been adopted as our National Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System.
