*Install Guide for the Ocarina of Time PC Port Ships of Harkinian*

Step into the forest with me as I dive back into a legendary childhood memory rebuilt for modern hardware. This is the Ocarina of Time PC port known as Ships of Harkinian a fan made passion project that turns the classic cartridge adventure into a smooth sharp high refresh rate PC experience. Before you jump in you need to legally own the original game since the installer converts your ROM into proper PC files. I can not help you find ROMs so sail the seas at your own risk.

Nintendo still swings the copyright hammer like it is 1998 so if you plan to stream or upload this make sure the in game music is turned off or they will nuke your video in seconds. I got hit before I even finished loading into the stream.

I am running Marty McFly Immersion Ultra RTGI for lighting and shadows but that is optional. The shader is paid and you can play the game for free without it but if you want the same glow lighting and depth that I am showing then you will need to find that on your own.

*How to Install Ships of Harkinian*

1. You must legally own Ocarina of Time for N64.
2. Download the Ships of Harkinian installer from the official project page.
3. Run the program and point it to your personal ROM so it can convert the files.
4. Once it builds the PC version launch the game from the generated folder.
5. Optional add ReShade and install Marty McFly Immersion Ultra if you want ray tracing style lighting.
6. For Xbox or PlayStation controllers rebind your C buttons so the right stick works.
7. Inside the game settings turn on widescreen turn on 3D projectiles and fix 2D rendering scenes to avoid black or missing textures.
8. If rupees appear black turn on 3D projectiles under graphics.
9. If your scene textures glitch out enable 2D rendering scenes to fix it.

How to Install Everything

Step 1. Download Ship of Harkinian
Grab the newest Windows version from the official site
Extract the zip anywhere except Program Files
Run soh.exe once to start the setup process

Step 2. Provide Your Ocarina of Time ROM
You must use your own legally dumped copy
SoH will ask for it the first time you run it
Choose the file and let SoH extract the game assets
It closes the console window when extraction completes then launches normally

Step 3. Download OoT Reloaded HD Textures
From the link above download the Ship of Harkinian version of the pack
Extract the files until you see the o2r or otr files inside
Do not leave these zipped

Step 4. Add Texture Pack and Mods to SoH
In your main Ship of Harkinian folder there should be a folder named mods
Place your o2r or otr files inside that folder
For each GameBanana mod you downloaded follow the mod page instructions
Most mods require extracting files and placing them in the mods folder or merging into the texture pack folder
If a mod includes a readme follow those exact steps

Step 5. Launch SoH and Activate the HD Textures
Start the game
Open the SoH menu by pressing Escape or Tab
Go to Enhancements then Graphics
Turn on Use Alternate Assets
This loads the HD textures instantly and the world will look sharper

Tips for Better Visuals

• Set your resolution to your monitor native resolution
• Turn on enhancements one at a time to see what your PC handles
• If textures flicker turn off MSAA or reduce effects
• If the pack does not load check that the files are in the mods folder and not zipped
• For mods that modify the same assets check load order and test one mod at a time

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Folder name must be mods not Mods or MODS
• Texture packs and mods must be extracted first
• Use the correct ROM otherwise the extractor fails
• Make sure you downloaded the Ship of Harkinian version of the texture pack
