The Porsche 996 Turbo is a different car from the rest of the 911 family because it used a different engine the regular cars. The 911 Turbo had what is called a Mezger engine, named after the famous Porsche engineer who designed the engine. These engines are highly desirable and very reliable, which makes this 996 Turbo stand out amongst its siblings. The 996 Turbo has a 3.6L 6-cylinder engine with 415hp and standard AWD. the interior was fitted with leather seats. The polarizing aspect of the 996 was the radical front headlamp design that went on to get the nickname "fried egg" headlamps. This design choice and the fact the non Mezger cars became less reliable, effected the value of these cars. Time has passed and now buyers have found out that the design looks better with the passage of time and the Turbo represents the best value in the 911 Turbo world.
