The cutting extinguisher has raised a LOT of opinions! Some say it’s genius, others think it’s crap and some say it takes the fun out of being a firefighter... I can agree on all points actually, but in various situations. Fact!: It’s a lance which can cut through all known building materials by ejecting a mix of water and a cutting agent, with high pressure (over 250bar) The mist of water mixed with foam (x-fog) will cool the gas in the area around the fire, reduce the oxygen concentration and absorb heat radiation. This process works faster because of the many small droplets of water. And there’s a lot of other benefits as well as safety, less water damage, exposure etc. So in certain given situation it’s genius! And then you have to recognize those who’re not. Some argue if it’s people inside they will be fried. Well at this point most of them are fried one way or another anyway, but again, read the situation and act accordingly! The old ways will always be there, and yes they’re the most fun...
