Описание к видео Apple QuickTake 150 / 200 Photo Reel

During the pandemic, I somehow ended up down an Apple Quicktake 100/150/200 rabbit hole and this was the result. I started with a few PowerBooks for mobility (1400 then 3400) and ended up with a Kanga G3, which was a truly awesome laptop. During this time, I would end up with about a dozen various QuickTake cameras (100, 100+, 8 150s and 2 200s). As a result, I coined myself the QuickTakeCollector on IG.

I would label each camera based on use case scenario since they could only store 16 HQ pictures each while I'm out. So imagine, I'm lugging around a backpack full of ancient .3MP cameras (for fun). Though I do feel the results were quite nice considering the age of the tech, something I very much wish I could've had as a kid or young teen rather when the 100 was released. One of the cameras had a weird glitch that altered the colors that I called Colorbender, which you'll see the result of within the reel as well.

It did end up rekindling my love of photography that I hadn't realized just how much I'd missed over the past few decades. While it was a fun experiment, I wholly recommend using a modern camera to capture the precious moments of life that tends to escape us faster than we realize.

Some of the cameras I obtained had images stored on them, even from the 90s as can be seen in the Throwback Thursday shots I've included here! I got so deep into the QuickTake stuff that I'd end up with a KiCad Tripod, macro and wide angle lenses (which is kind of absurd when you consider the technology we're talking about here) and even took some panoramic images if you can imagine such a thing even being possible with this camera, which can be spotted in this reel. It used the entire camera's 16 available shots to stitch together and created on the Powerbook 1400CS using the included era-appropriate software.

I had learned about the unreleased QuickTake 1000 and was sad to learn there's almost no information on it. Would still love to see it in person someday if it actually exists somewhere out there and am curious as to the tech specs of how that would have turned out over the 200.

If you've ever had an Apple Quicktake, I would love to hear your stories about it and the pictures and memories captured! *Music is my own, created using an Atari ST MIDI setup in 2025.
