Having been shuttered from the world for fifty years, seen only by NFTA employees and construction workers, the historic Delaware, Lackawanna & Western terminal in Buffalo, NY has been given a new life, as just four days ago, construction on the lower level was completed and it opened to the public as the Metro Rail's newest stop! In this video, watch as Metro Rail trains arrive at and depart from the lower level of this historic Canalside landmark, which now allows access to the waterfront; the upper level remaining closed for construction and will, in the future, become a community hub that will house restaurants, shops, and a public market, as well as feature a walkway connecting to the nearby KeyBank Center to offer a direct-access station stop for Sabres and Bandits games! With the entire waterfront undergoing massive revitalization projects, it's wonderful to see this old relic being included!
