Ok so since A LOT of people were interested in my latest comparison here's another one! These ones are bit old but they're probably the only direct redos I've done haha.

The animations on the top were rigged, the bottom ones were hand drawn. It's not really a fair comparison because I was never trying to perfect the animation in the first ones, I just wanted to test out how I may approach lighting for the series, so I just made them very quickly. That being said, I did the rigged versions in the same amount of time (around 60-90 minutes I believe) and was able to add additional movement AND make things more fluid, which highlights why my indie projects are going to be rigged! In my experience there's just so much more you can do with rigs when there are tight deadlines/a limited budget.
