This video showcases the making of an original HOe narrow gauge layout base handcrafted by Narrow Gauge Shop.

It merges the creative worlds of the legendary 1960s manufacturer Egger-Bahn and the renowned Japanese model maker Joe Works, both pioneers of small-scale narrow gauge layouts.

Every structure — the engine shed, warehouse, and station building — was scratch-built from the ground up, combining the nostalgic charm of Egger-Bahn with the refined craftsmanship of Joe Works.
The result is a truly unique German-Japanese hybrid layout, bringing two historic traditions together in one scene.

The track plan was inspired by the classic layout documentation “Workshop IX” featured on Egger-Bahn.de, and reconstructed as a respectful homage with a modern interpretation.
We deeply appreciate the individuals who have preserved and shared these historical materials.

Through this handcrafted layout, we hope to capture the essence of Egger-Bahn’s timeless motto — “a compact world full of dreams.”
